1. Preheat oven to 375 F.
2. Add butter to large skillet and melt over medium heat.
3. Add yellow onion and saute until onion is translucent.
4. Spread onion butter mixture over bottom of large ceramic baking dish. Set aside.
5. In a small bowl combine sour cream, mayonnaise, green onions and fresh lemon juice.
6. Arrange halibut fillets over onion slices in baking dish.
7. Spread sour cream mixture over fillets.
8. Sprinkle with cracker crumbs.
9. Bake 40-50 minutes.
